Who I am...

I

am a recent graduate of Appalachian State University and I am seeking my first post-university job. After I graduated, I moved across the country to Seattle to begin my career. Seattle is an awesome city with a lot of opportunities in my line of work. I want to challenge myself and participate in the development of large scale software.

I

grew up in Sparta, North Carolina, where I went to high school at Alleghany High School. Sparta is a small mountain town blessed with many outdoor activities like camping, hiking, and fishing.
After high school I went to Surry Community College for 2 years and then transferred to Appalachian State University (ASU) to finish my undergraduate degree in Computer Science. After completing my undergraduate degree I enrolled at ASU to begin my graduate degree. For 3 semesters I worked extremely hard to complete all my course work, and in Spring 2009 I completed my Master of Science Degree in Computer Science.

T

he next step in my life was my relocation to Seattle. The trip was fairly easy, considering how long it was (42 hrs or 2800 mi!!!). The hardest part was the beginning of the trip when I had to say goodbye to my family and friends. It is hard to say good bye to the ones you love, especially the ones that have always been in your life. On June 15th my girlfriend and I embarked on our journey and on June 22nd we arrived in Seattle.

ating Chef Boyardi, crackers, granola bars, and sunflower seeds, we fueled our way across this country. The My Videos section will contain videos of the trip and the My Photos and Gallery sections will contain all the photos of our trip. This country is extremely beautiful with a lot of different landscapes to see. I would definitely recommend a cross country trip to any one interested. My favorite parts of the trip were Utah, Washington, and the Medicine Bow National Forest in Wyoming. Looking back on our trip now, it really was not that difficult...even our two cats agree!
